The product range started with blue tungsten bulbs only. Then the blue bulbs were fitted in sourced magnifying lamps and gradually to other lamps.
From the beginning the mission was to give customers dedicated lamps adapted to the needs of their hobby, work or circumstances.
The method to do this has always been: listen to customers, design and innovate new solutions to produce high quality lamps.
In 1990 we designed our first in-house designed lamp using the blue bulb technology.
Assembly of these in-house designed lamps started in London, first in Portobello Road.
Established first sector in Art and expanded to Craft sector in 1992.
First export to France in 1995
daylight™ was the first with full and dedicated Art and Craft ranges. As these were completely new sectors, magazines started to write about them; shops started to demonstrate lamps and to talk about the benefits of good lighting and customers started to give feedback and new ideas. Lamps were the 'hot' item in craft (although that technically changed with the launch of CFL's) and daylight™ had created a new market segment and has been market leader ever since.
Our company moved to Scrubs Lane building in 1996 and established a Low Vision sector.
We were the first with a dedicated range of Low Vision lamps, which were designed with feedback from various Low Vision organisations. daylight™ is recognised as the market leader in specialised Low Vision lamps.
daylight™ introduced CFL bulbs to its products in 1998 and hired a professional product designer who has designed many cutting-edge products.
Set up a successful US LLC branch in 2000 and established Health & Beauty and Industrial sectors.
daylight™ established an Australian branch and a China office in 2001 and moved production to Chinese factories.
Launched first LED accessories in 2008.
Created first LED lamps in 2010.
Today, daylight™ is a global leader in the lighting industry spanning Europe, US, Canada and Australia.
